Troop Truck Buzz Kill Bug

Postby sleeping » Thu Mar 15, 2012 8:34 am

Loaded my troop truck with 500 troops.
Dropped 20 troops in a zone.
Troops went down to 480.
Next zone.
My kid was in control of the troop drop.
She says it told her the troop drop failed, I didn't have enough troops in the truck to drop.
I scream WTF, as my plans to take over 10 zones were ruined.
My troop truck now reads -4300 on the truck in troop transfer screen.
My current load displays -430 (probably because it's truncated).

This is what really sucks, I have to spend 43 chicken legs, and 43 people heads to get my troop truck back to 0; then another 50 to get back to 500. Not to mention that I wasted 50 of each to load the truck in the first place. GAH!!!!

I've put your troop truck back up to 500.

I'll take a look to see why that could happen. Do you happen to know how much she was trying to drop? I know there's one issue where the drop troops button can be tapped multiple times - which may have caused the issue.

If you can provide any other info - let me know.

Thanks

Thank you.
We were at around 470 troops in the truck. I told her to drop 10. After that point not exactly sure what happened.

The troop drop screen isn't that intuitive so she moved the slider until the truck read 20 and dropped a total of 450 troops thinking she was dropping only 10. I did this once previously and attempted to explain this to her before she dropped the troops but she's a teenager so she probably didn't listen. She said she may have also hit the button several times because it didn't immediately show that troops were dropped.

The same thing happened to me today. I am currently carrying an impressive -4800 troops. I believe this is the sequence of events:

1) I slid the slider from 500 to 490
2) I must have hit the transfer troops button twice
3) I either hit the back button too many times, or I hit the home arrow. I saw the "successfully dropped.." dialog flash for a second time, then I was at the phone's main screen. When I went back in to drop troops at the next territory, I was at -4800.

If there's any logging on the server side, this would've happened around 3:15 PM Central Time.

Sorry for not getting back to you yesterday - bumped you back up to 500.

Thanks for the steps.

Got bitten by this bug too...

An attempt to offload troops during an unstable connections (multiple taps, admittedly) left me with -9900 troops shown on the truck and -990 shown on Current Load (in troop transfer screen).

The actual offload (about 400 troops?) probably worked at location of drop-off.

So a reset to 0 would be nice... I will abstain from using the truck until then... :(
